"We loved this place - set out in the middle of the rain forest with little other than toucans, howler monkeys, bats and agouti for company. I admit that if you are looking for a bland, all inclusive resort - La Ceiba may not be for you. But if you you want to sleep in the rainforest then this place is beyond perfect. There's a decent track about 400m long from where you park to the accommodation. It is lit at night - watch out for snakes and you'll definitely see frogs."

Just a suggestion - you should promote the work of the Jaguar Rescue Center more. We stayed here partly because the money is used to help wildlife - but many people may not make that connection and so may not go and visit the JRC

Road to the house is absolutely ridiculous! It should not be allowed to host anyone in houses or hotels with road like this. There are building works happening too,with new houses coming up yet the road is AWFUL! For that specific reason 8/10 not 10/10. Also Garden is not secure so letting dog out is not simple.

For a family of four it was a bit tight spaced, but not unmanageable. Just for awareness - it is one bedroom and the sleeper couch serves as second bed.

"A wonderful , basic cabin located in the arguably the best location on the island . Surrounded by acres of exotic fruit and native forest beyond. Birdlife is prolific. This is a place to stay for birdwatching with flocks of African grey parrots, kingfishers, egrets .. and so much more to see.. Excellent value meals can be brought to your table daily. Freshly caught fish, local grown fruit and rice. No need to cook . It's good quality and great value. Bring cash for guides and daily, national park entry fees . The beach is amazing ... REALLY"

Ensure you have bought a local sim-card, loaded with data before arriving. Wifi may not work. Also, before arriving, stop at a supermarket and buy sufficient drinking water for your stay. ( 2 litres per person per day minimum ). Bring mosquito spray for your jungle walks and be prepared to rough it .

"Everything you will see at this place is handmade by the owner himself and you can tell he and his family put all their heart and soul in it. We had a very comfortable room with a terrace and we also visited the cellar with multitude of paintings, sculpture and Kvevri wine."

The staff was not to helpful when getting us a bajaji or boda. The restaurant food was amazing, even though paying additional 2$ for eggs for breakfast is way to overpriced compared with what you get at other hotels.

"I absolutely loved the place! I came together with my friend with intention to relax and chill. The place was super cozy, relaxing and in a lovely calm area. When we came in november, there were still some wedding decoration left on the staircase (from the owners sons wedding the month before), and as a future bride myself I felt enchanted! "I liked everything about the property. It felt like a peaceful oasis away from the hectic life of the local area. The villas are well equipped for cooking which I managed to do quite happily. All the staff were particularly helpful, professional and pleasant in their approach. I have to mention Miss Erika, the property administrator who couldn’t do enough to make me feel welcomed and comfortable. Also, Maria would clean and tidy my villa so well, which always made my surroundings so pleasant. Even Digno, the security guy, was very helpful and carried my suitcases when I left. I was very happy with the price I paid to stay in this property."
