"Sergio's tours (both morning and night boat) were the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. Similar wildlife tours in Monteverde and Manuel Antonio have not come close in terms of guide quality. He is clearly very passionate about the wildlife. Gloria's breakfasts left a similar impression! We will miss her traditional breakfasts which while common in style in the other areas we have visited, were not replicated in quality! This was a lovely family host experience and we look forward to coming back one day. Pura vida :)"

"Great location in San Francisco, a small village a boat ride away from Tortuguero . Hosts were very helpful. Breakfast was great, canal rides are a must as this is what Tortuguero has to offer. Tortuguero mountain is a 10 minute walk away. Not really a mountain but a series of steps up to a fine view point."

"From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we had the most amazing time. Gloria, with the lovely smile, makes the best breakfasts and is always around to help with anything you need and Sergio is an incredible tour guide (we did both a day and a night boat trip and saw so much wildlife including a puma and a tapir! The room was comfy and clean and the swimming pool perfect in the afternoon San francisco is amazing. So friendly. There are a few tiny restaurants and a super market. You can walk to the “cerro” to see monkeys and much more and there is a taxi bus to tortuguero"

"Gloria and her family are extremely nice and welcoming! We especially enjoyed the canal tour with her husband, which was very individual and much better than commercial tours. The room was simple and clean. In general, San Francisco is a very nice and quiet village with a few very nice and authentic restaurants and bars - contrasting the crowded Tortuguero town. We enjoyed our two nights stay a lot!!"

"Todo. Respecto al dueño Rober, una persona sumamente amable que siempre tuvo un si como respuesta, muy predispuesto. Nos dejó dejar las maletas varias horas antes del check in para que podamos aprovechar bien el día de playa. También en el momento de dejar las maletas temprano, le consulté si podíamos dejar la ropa secando, y obviamente me dijo que si, lo que me permitió volver a la tarde/noche de la playa y tener la ropa seca (que desde hace días traía húmeda). Finalmente el amable Robert, a raíz de un percance que tuvimos, nos llevó hasta la terminal en su camioneta. En cuanto a la propiedad, súper recomendada. Tiene un agradable patio, una cocina súper equipada con todo lo que puedas necesitar. Un living con aire que llega hasta las piezas. Además las piezas tienen un ventilador cada una. De seguro no pasas calor. Además tiene agua caliente. La casa tiene una muy buena ubicación, en un lugar muy tranquilo, a unos minutos a pie de la playa. Buen precio. Recomendado 100%."

"An absolutely fantastic villa. The photos on Booking.com really do not do this place justice — the villa is much larger than it appears online. You have everything you need for a comfortable stay, and the surrounding nature is simply stunning. Be prepared to wake up to howler monkeys and to see toucans and macaws flying overhead — it truly feels like being in the middle of a nature documentary. Despite it not being mentioned in the listing, the villa does have free WiFi and it’s excellent, which was a very pleasant surprise. The host, Gustavo, was very helpful and responsive. This place is a true gem and an absolute must if you are staying in Uvita."
